There is a small kitchen area (kettle\, coffee make\, fridge) and washroom available for the drop-in sessions. Please be respectful of our space and leave things as you find them. \nThere are many ways to become involved with our creative community! \nCrafters who wish to further support or contribute to the Route 22 creative space and opportunities are encouraged to consider a support membership (20$ annually) or to donate! DESCRIPTION:Learn to Paint with Stephen Purdy! \nMost of us enjoy the natural landscape\, and sometimes stand in awe of its beauty. \nJoin Stephen as he teaches and shares what he’s learned to help you make a landscape painting you can be proud of! \nThis class is based on the process of painting outdoors\, in which it is essential to develop a strong composition\, designate the appropriate values\, and make the colour sparkle with the life of the scene before your eyes. Outside\, you have a limited time to capture the scene as the light will change. Inside the studio\, this same efficiency will keep your painting fresh. \nThis class is for everyone. Beginner\, Intermediate or Expert. We can all learn from some constructive criticism. The class is structured with demonstrations of each stage of a painting\, followed by individual critiques of each stage of the students’ progress. DESCRIPTION:Plein Air Demos & Workshop with Marike MacDonald! \nJoin Marike MacDonald for direct wet-on-wet painting using inspiration from the Historic Cochrane Ranche! Following 3 short demonstrations of the initial rough in\, the block in\, and the painting finish\, participants will proceed with using the aforementioned technique for themselves. \nDate: Saturday May 30th\, 2025 \nLocation: Cochrane Historic Ranche \nTime: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM \nCost: $25.00 \nAudience: Adults Only – 18+ \nAttire: Dress for being outside. Warm layers\, sunscreen\, etc. Pack water or something warm to drink. \n**Please Note: In case of rain\, this workshop will be moved to the Centennial Plaza in downtown Cochrane\, for coverage (across the street from the Rocky View Hotel on Mainstreet).** \nWhat Participants Need to Bring: \n\nOil or Acrylic Paints: one red\, one yellow\, one blue and white.
