Outside\, you have a limited time to capture the scene as the light will change. Inside the studio\, this same efficiency will keep your painting fresh. \nThis class is for everyone. Beginner\, Intermediate or Expert. We can all learn from some constructive criticism. The class is structured with demonstrations of each stage of a painting\, followed by individual critiques of each stage of the students’ progress. Outside\, you have a limited time to capture the scene as the light will change. Inside the studio\, this same efficiency will keep your painting fresh. \nThis class is for everyone. Beginner\, Intermediate or Expert. We can all learn from some constructive criticism. The class is structured with demonstrations of each stage of a painting\, followed by individual critiques of each stage of the students’ progress. DESCRIPTION:Queer Art Night! \nJoin us in a dedicated drop-in space for our queer community to gather\, create\, and simply be. Facilitated by Kim Cota\, an art therapy intern from the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute\, this session offers a zero-judgment environment to explore creative prompts or work on your own self-directed projects. \nQueer Art Night is a space for the queer community to connect through the act of making. It is a low-pressure environment designed to prioritize “process over product\,” where you can show up exactly as you are. Whether you’re looking for a new creative spark or just a supportive place to sit and work. \nThe evening is designed to be flexible. A variety of materials and a gentle\, accessible art-making prompt are provided to help get your hands moving. DESCRIPTION:Sip and Sculpt Friday! \nDue to popular demand\, Michael Emery and Route 22 will be hosting another hands-on soapstone carving workshop in May! Enjoy some refreshments from our cash bar while you learn the fundamentals of shaping stone and creating a finished sculptural piece! \nParticipants will learn basic carving techniques\, safe material handling\, and simple hand-sanding methods using water to reduce dust. With the ability to choose from a small set of pre-selected shapes and designs\, participants will be able to create a finished sculptural piece.
