DESCRIPTION:Sip and Sculpt Friday! \nDue to popular demand\, Michael Emery and Route 22 will be hosting another hands-on soapstone carving workshop in May! Enjoy some refreshments from our cash bar while you learn the fundamentals of shaping stone and creating a finished sculptural piece! \nParticipants will learn basic carving techniques\, safe material handling\, and simple hand-sanding methods using water to reduce dust. With the ability to choose from a small set of pre-selected shapes and designs\, participants will be able to create a finished sculptural piece. Outside\, you have a limited time to capture the scene as the light will change. Inside the studio\, this same efficiency will keep your painting fresh. \nThis class is for everyone. Beginner\, Intermediate or Expert. We can all learn from some constructive criticism. The class is structured with demonstrations of each stage of a painting\, followed by individual critiques of each stage of the students’ progress. There is a small kitchen area (kettle\, coffee make\, fridge) and washroom available for the drop-in sessions.
