With more than three decades of experience in the printing and allied trades, and a formal background in art and design, Gerry Mulhall brings both technical skill and creative intuition to his work. He holds a BA in Art Education and Design from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin, Ireland, and has been painting for most of his life.
Since moving to Calgary in 2001, Gerry has shared his passion for art through teaching at community centres and art supply stores across the city. Now retired, he is fully devoted to his practice as a semi-professional artist, painting regularly both en plein air and in the studio.
Gerry has studied under several leading American artists and completed a year-long online mentorship program with renowned painter Randall Sexton. His work has been featured in the Calgary Stampede’s Western Showcase and Mini Gallery, and he has held two solo exhibitions along with numerous community showings.
An active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) in both Vancouver and Calgary chapters, Gerry regularly participates in plein air painting events across Canada, earning multiple awards and national recognition. Most recently, he was honoured as one of the top eight finalists in the inaugural 2025 Canada Paints Calgary competition.
