Rick Ducommun

Painter

My art education spans 6 years in two different universities. I graduated. I also studied engineering and business in two more universities based in the US. I failed one and graduated from the other. Names and grade distractions.

My work as it relates to my art included selling ice cream as an undocumented white Canadian guy in a carney midway serving from Minneapolis to Shreveport Louisanna. At the other end I was commercial and corporate real estate lending consultant to 4 major Canadian Banks at one point. I saw many private collections and a few true masterpieces.

So I saw art that ranged from carney facades to important collections both public and private their stories are as captivating as the works on the walls.

My art is based on stories. Each piece speaks for itself but are also chapters of tales of lives and adventures. Don’t expect literal representations and you won’t be disappointed.

I blend art related references with science like testing and engineering craft. Though I enjoy doing stock and dog scenes in pen, I get the most enjoyment from making non representational pieces for the eyes of just lovers of colors, shapes and compositions.
