Clay Creator

Robyn Cooper

Pottery has been the joy in my life since being a mud baby as a child. Playing in mud gets you literally back in touch with the earth. I hope to add that joy to anyone who uses my pottery in their everyday life.

Robyn Cooper is a potter who has lived in Airdrie for over 30 years. She completed an extensive 3 year degree program in Ceramic Technology at John Abbott College in Quebec in the late 1970’s. Although her life took a different path, she still stayed active in Airdrie’s art community by participating the city art project and fundraisers using her painting skills. Robyn decided to reconnect with clay in 2019, and now owns a homebased pottery studio. Much of her work reflects her love of nature and most of her work centers on connecting nature’s beauty with functionality.

The intersection where art, culture and community converge.
Route 22 Gallery is located on the land of the Treaty 7 people. In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge the Treaty 7 territory and the cultural and oral practices of the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations as well as the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, (Métis Nation District 4) within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. It is a privilege and and an honour to share these lands as our collective home. Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery is an inclusive organization. We love our community and all are welcome here.
