It is held at the scenic Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park and features a collaboration with the Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery, spotlighting the synergy between natural beauty and artistic expression.

Saturday May 25th Event Schedule @Glenbow Ranch Park Learning Centre:
This year, Route 22 Gallery is committed to furthering its engagement with local Indigenous arts. Collaborating with Wazin Îchinabi Ti, Nakoda for “House of Oneness”, is a non-profit society located in Cochrane, is working with Route 22 Gallery again this year, alongside Métis artist and writer, District Captain Amber Boyd of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
With their help and knowledge, additional programming was added to this year’s festival schedule and will showcase traditional Métis arts, dancing, and storytelling with Elders at Glenbow Ranch Park on Saturday, May 25th, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. The weekend event will commence with a blessing offered by Elders and Knowledge Holders, JR & Pauline Twoyoungmen from the Stoney Nakoda Nation on Saturday May 25th at 9:30am and we hope to see everyone there!
The Art in the Park Festival is open to the public and offers family-friendly art activities for all ages. All activities are by-donation on a “pay-what-you-can” system. Attendees are encouraged to contribute what they can to partake in the art activities, and the funds raised will support the development of future Art in the Park programming.

11:00 – 11:30am – Nature Tour of GRPF with Elders and Knowledge Holders, JR & Pauline Twoyoungmen
10:30 – 12:00 PM – “Finger Weaving” with Matt Hiltermann (20 stops)
12:00 – 2:00 PM – “Fish Scale Art” with Danielle Piper (25 stops)
2:00 – 3:00 PM – “Métis Jigging” Learn to dance the Jig with Pam Piche-Lashmore
3:00 – 4:00 PM – “Birch Bark Canoes, Wolf Willow, and other Métis Art” talk with District Captain, Amber Boyd
These activities are open to all ages to join. However, please note that Finger-Weaving and Fish Scale artwork have limited spots, so they will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Come Paint Alberta
Come Paint Alberta is a collaborative, seasonal plein air festival circuit led by Route 22 that brings together nine arts organizations from across Southern Alberta. These events aim to connect and strengthen our arts community and creative economy – attracting tourism, sparking collaboration, and building meaningful connections across sectors. This is the fifth annual festival celebrating Alberta’s breathtaking landscapes through plein air art.
