Painter

Amanda Maglis-Long

As a contemporary landscape and wildlife artist, my work is deeply rooted in a true admiration for the natural world and real concern for its fragility. I hope to evoke a sense of urgency and inspire action toward sustainable living and conservation efforts. I believe that art has the power to transform perspectives, foster empathy, and ignite a collective commitment to protect our planet.

Amanda Maglis-Long is a contemporary landscape and wildlife artist, who is based in Calgary, Alberta. She is an acrylic painter, whose love of nature has inspired her bright and vivid artworks. Her home surroundings in the city and nearby mountains have influenced her painting’s mixture of concise solid lines and strong blended colors. Her work captures the beauty and diversity of Canada’s majestic wilderness. The importance of preserving these landscapes and the wildlife within them is  significant to Amanda. Through her paintings, she aims to inspire a deeper appreciation for nature and promote environmental responsibility.

Amanda is an avid hiker, mountain biker and skier, on the trails is where she finds endless inspiration. She studied Graphic Design at ACAD and Engineering Design & Drafting at SAIT in Calgary. These very different backgrounds have greatly influenced her style and process. Her paintings are distinct and instantly recognizable as her own. She has shown in galleries and art shows across the country. Amanda’s original paintings can be found in private collections across Canada, the United States and Germany.

The intersection where art, culture and community converge.
Route 22 Gallery is located on the land of the Treaty 7 people. In the spirit of respect, reciprocity and truth, we honour and acknowledge the Treaty 7 territory and the cultural and oral practices of the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations as well as the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani. We acknowledge that this territory is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, (Métis Nation District 4) within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. It is a privilege and and an honour to share these lands as our collective home. Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery is an inclusive organization. We love our community and all are welcome here.
