My background in counselling and art therapy is a constant driving force in my creative practice. My work is a bridge between art, healing and community, grounded in memory and guided by connection. As a visual artist, I am a storyteller, connecting memory, place, and spirit, giving voice to the voiceless, and mirroring the unique landscapes, diversity, and history that surrounds us.
Cindy Zampa, a late-blooming artist, discovered her creative path in retirement (2017). With no formal art education, she has instead built her practice through mentorship, observation, curiosity, and the willingness to fail forward.
A life-long learner, Cindy values exploration over perfection and process over certainty. Her guiding questions are “What if…?”, and “What’s next?”, leading her to become a founding member of Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery. She is also a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Leighton Art Centre, and Okotoks Art Gallery.
Cindy’s work is inspired by the healing that comes from both creating art and witnessing it. Her paintings often reflect the landscapes of Alberta—spaces that offer grounding, reflection, and renewal.
Her artistic roots began in a small collective she founded, called Studio 52, where she committed to creating one painting a week, for two years. The group received recognition from the City of Airdrie, including invitations to collaborate on public projects, host the VIP lounge for the 2019 Alberta Winter Games, and design commemorative cards for Airdrie’s birthday celebrations. She has been featured in ‘airdrielife Magazine’ several times.
Cindy continues to grow, sharing art as an act of stewardship, for connection and healing.
