Join Michael Emery for a hands-on soapstone carving workshop. Enjoy some refreshments from our cash bar while you learn the fundamentals of shaping stone and creating a finished sculptural piece!
Participants will learn basic carving techniques, safe material handling, and simple hand-sanding methods using water to reduce dust. With the ability to choose from a small set of pre-selected shapes and designs, participants will be able to create a finished sculptural piece. The emphasis is on process, experimentation, and creative confidence rather than artistic perfection.
No prior experience is required, and each participant will leave with a completed stone carving they created themselves.
