Title: Mindfulness in Art

Course Description:

Students will have an opportunity to experience the positive effect of art on wellbeing. This workshop is all about stepping away from your busy world and spending time relaxing using art materials any way you want. This is an opportunity for creative play and using art materials for self-exploration.

*This is NOT a “how to paint something” class and it is NOT art therapy.

What Students will Learn: 

  • To experience how creativity can boost mental wellbeing and aid relaxation.
  • Explore materials that perhaps you have never had a chance to try before.
  • Art is not always about the end product. The creative process is equally important.

Student Supplies:

  • Notebook and pen
  • Water bottle
  • A couple black fine liner pens (range of 0.1 – 0.8 size for variety)
  • Pencils and eraser

Instructor Bio: 

Beverley Moorhouse is an intuitive abstract artist. Through her previous psychotherapy work and teaching, she discovered by offering simple art materials, others can quickly gain a sense of calm and relaxation. Beverley believes self-discovery comes from creative play and having the opportunity to experience art materials on your own terms. Beverley leads with empathy, a listening ear and encouragement to be your authentic self.
