As a potter the juxtaposition of function and form are the focus of my work.  I have developed my personal style over a twenty-five year period.   As I create the questions that I am asking are, is this piece functional? Will it be easy to use?  Is it visually appealing? The forming of vessels is a cathartic process that totally immerses me.

I begin my journey with the end in mind. The colours of nature are the basis for my glaze choices.  Mountain hikes inspired my mountain series.  My horizon series reflects the many streams and waterways that I have traversed.  The contrast of the snow-covered mountains against the big sky are the foundation of my glacier series. My contentment and joy of having chosen the Bow Valley Region as my home is obvious in my work.

My hope is that the purchasers of my pottery pieces will love them and choose them first when they open their cupboards.
