I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. It began on a wall in my parents kitchen. I would paint and draw mostly animals on there until it was full, then my Dad would give it a fresh coat of paint so I could strart again.
I moved with my family to the rural area outside of Cochrane over 30 years ago. I went to every horse and rodeo event that Icould find, taking hundreds of photos. From a few of these photos I tryed to capture the personality of the animal that touches our lives, from the working horse, wild ones and our faithful companions.
I work mostly in oil but enjoy doing graphite, watercolorand acrylic. My favorite subject by far is the horse, there is just something that draws me them. I have also done numerous pet portraits for customers. Also dabble in cows, birds and other animals. I have even drawn people from time to time but they must have lots of character “lines”.
My artwork can be found in private collections in Canada and the U.S. I have had articles featuring my work and also been on the cover of Horses All Magazine, won numerous awards including Calgary Stampede Western Lifestyle, featured artist in a private show in Arizona and accepted a number of times in the Calgary Stampede Gallery. Of course my work can be seen at Route 22 Gallery in Cochrane.
