Description: This weekend workshop is designed to introduce students to all the basics of acrylic landscape painting by creating your very own masterpiece of Norman Creek. Even if you are starting out for the first time, this course is meant to be fun, relaxed and creative. The instructor will provide ongoing demos to lead you though the painting to completion. Working step by step, you will develop a solid foundation on which to build your artistic skills. By the end of this weekend workshop, you will walk out of the studio with a completed 12×16 inch ready- to-hang painting.

Acrylic Paint – artist quality – ie. Golden, Liquitex, Winsor & Newton, TriArt, etc.
- Titanium White
- Ultramarine Blue
- Cobalt Blue
- Burnt Umber
- Cadmium Yellow (or similar)
- Alizarin ( or cadmium red)
- Raw Sienna
- Burnt Sienna
Brushes – for acrylics
- #2 or #4 round
- #4 or #6 flat or angle
- 12” x 16” prepared Baltic birch panel (preferred) or prepared masonite or stretched canvas
- Water container i.e. margarine tub
- Disposable palette or other
- Paper Towel
Instructor Bio: Peter Potapoff is a contemporary realist painter who has taught many workshops throughout Western Canada. Throughout a decades-spanning career, Peter has won both provincial and national competitions for his highly esteemed wildlife paintings. Over the years Peter has honed his observation skills, taking great care to observe the intricacies within the natural environment. Working from a collection of photographs, sketches, and personal experiences Peter develops these into compositions for his acrylic paintings on panel.
