Audience: Beginner Adult

Description: In this class, students will learn the basics of linocut printmaking. The instructor will teach students about composition, safe cutting techniques and how to pull prints. Also covered will be information about choosing tools, ink and papers suitable for a wide range of projects. Participants will leave with hand pulled prints of their own design, their own carved blocks as well as the skill to practice at home using basic art materials.

All Supplies Included.

What Students will Learn:  

• Image transferring

• Safe cutting skills

• Inking and burnishing prints

• Material selection and care

•  How to edition prints

Student Supplies : 

• Notebook and pen

• Water bottle

• Bring reading glasses if you require them for fine work

Instructor Bio :

Michelle Wiebe is a Cochrane, Alberta based artist focused primarily on painting, printmaking, and letterpress. Her work is characterized by simple subject matter rendered with bold colour and line work. Michelle is also a passionate instructor with a deep love for teaching, she makes it her goal that students leave her class with quality work and the confidence to continue building their new skills. She has regularly instructed at Inglewood Art Supplies, Alberta Printmakers and the Leighton Artist Centre.
