Course Description:
In this workshop we will paint two seasonal pieces – one Winter and one Autumn – focusing on Light and its effect in a watercolor painting.
What Students will Learn:
- The key to realism in watercolor is a good drawing.
- A good drawing is the product of careful observation so we will start with our sketch books to observe shapes and shadows.
- Students will be welcome to trace the image onto their watercolor paper if they are more comfortable using this method of producing an accurate image.
- Once we have a good drawing in place we will learn basic washes, sequencing our piece, masking and the progression of a watercolor painting from light to darkest values.
