Strengthening Bonds & Connection: A Creative Mindfulness Workshop

Audience: 12+ (teens encouraged to come with a parent or family member)

Description:

In this FREE art therapy workshop, participants will be guided through art activities designed to refresh and rejuvenate, with an emphasis on celebrating important nourishing relationships. Join us as we explore and strengthen the bonds within families using Creativity, Mindfulness, Discussion and Connection. This is an excellent opportunity for Mothers to prioritize their mental health individually OR for family members to experience together.

Instructor Bio: Charmaine Husum RCAT, RTC, CT, DKATI, is an Artist, Registered Art Therapist, Somatic Counsellor and Kundalini Yoga & Meditation teacher.

At her Art Therapy and Counselling practice, Centre of the Heart she supports clients both in person and online on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and the Métis people of Calgary Alberta, Canada. With an international reputation as an Artist, working in film and television, as well as facilitating retreats abroad for personal growth and development, her favorite place is being home in Canada close to family and pets.

Helping people find a personalized route to healing through trauma-informed art psychotherapy, mindfulness, yoga and body focused somatic approaches is the foundation of her work. Believing that true and lasting healing lives within every individual; the work she does focuses on one’s inner strength, power and innate capacity to thrive beyond difficult experiences in life.

She specializes in working with Trauma and symptoms of PTSD, C-PTSD , depression, anxiety, eating disorders, suicidality, addiction and other mental health symptoms, using Art Therapy and Somatic Approaches

Her current research enthusiasms are in neuroplasticity, neuroscience, epigenetics, mystical/ psychedelic integration and intergenerational trauma; on which she is currently finishing her second book and offers an array of online courses and programs.
