Course Description: Are you trying to find your direction or get motivated to put your big plans into action? Let Michelle Wiebe guide you on a wide variety of techniques to narrow your focus, make visual plans for your artwork and keep your inspiration organized into one neat little sketchbook. Get 2024 started off right with a creative and thoughtful approach to your art making practice!
What Students will Learn:
· Sketchbook journaling techniques
· How to use a sketchbook to develop imagery for larger works
· Using a sketchbook for developing palettes
· How to develop frameworks for larger series of work
· Long-term planning techniques for budgeting creative blocks of time in your week
Student Supplies:
· Notebook and pen
· Water bottle
· Minimum 8” x 10” sized mixed media sketchbook
· A selection of fine liners or pens for drawing and writing
· Watercolours, markers or pencil crayons (optional) (we will have some to share)
Instructor Bio: Michelle Wiebe is a Cochrane, Alberta based artist focused primarily on painting, printmaking, and letterpress. Her work is characterized by simple subject matter rendered with bold colour and line work. Michelle is also a passionate instructor with a deep love for teaching, she makes it her goal that students leave her class with quality work and the confidence to continue building their new skills. She has regularly instructed at Inglewood Art Supplies, Alberta Printmakers and the Leighton Artist Centre. www.michellewiebe.com
