On June 8th, Meet Team Canada Members at the Meet the Artist night taking place at Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery!
Learn about the World Photographic Cup, the “Olympics” of photography competition. Team Canada selects a team of photographers to represent Canada to compete on the world stage.
There are 8 categories, including Commercial; Illustration/Digital Art; Nature – Landscape; Nature – Wildlife; Portrait – Illustrative; Portrait – Natural; Reportage/Photojournalism; and Wedding.
Meet the local award winning artists that represented Canada in 2023 and learn the stories behind the 24 exceptional images showcasing the top photographers in Canada.
You can also see the Canadian Images that were top in their categories over the years, earning Bronze, Silver and Gold World Medals.
Jacquie Matechuk, 2021 Bronze Medalist, 2023 Team Canada representative in Wildlife and Reportage and Canon Canada Ambassador will be on site to share her experience representing Canada on this world stage.
Jo-Anne Oucharek, 2023 Team Canada representative, earning Best of Nation 2023 for Team Canada, will be on site to share the story behind the image and her experience being new to Team Canada this year.
In honour of the Best of Nation image ” The Catch” the food and beverage selection for the evening will highlight bears and is sponsored by the following local businesses:
Vinestone Wine Co. will be serving a selection of wine and beer non-alcoholic beverages including Grizzly Paw Sodas.
Horse Creek Heritage Candy & Gifts, will be supplying “bear claws”, part of their locally made Enceladus chocolates.
You will also find Sylan Star Grizzly Gouda and other delights to nibble on at this evening celebration.
Your ticket for the evening will get you into the draw for a print of ” The Catch”, the image earning the Best of Nation at the 2023 World Photographic Cup.
All proceeds from this event will support the Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery.
