Amanda Maglis-Long

Painter

As a young child I remember many family road trips through the Alberta Foothills and Rocky Mountains to our cabin in the Windermere Valley in B.C. On those trips I always had paper and pencils and I would spend hours drawing the mountains, rivers and trees we were driving past.

As an adult, my family still spends many weekends and our summers in the mountains. I love to hike, mountain bike, ski, travel and be creative whether it’s painting, throwing pottery or cooking!

I studied Graphic Design at ACAD and I also studied Engineering Design and Drafting Technology at SAIT in Calgary, Alberta. After a career as a draftsman in the petroleum industry, I started my career as a mom of two awesome boys. When they were young, I painted wall murals in bedrooms and at a school.

I even tried some graffiti (legal, of course). These different backgrounds have greatly influenced my painting style. I have really enjoyed growing my style over the years and becoming the artist I am today!

I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I have loved making them!
