Jeff MacKenzie

Painter

Jeff is a native Calgarian, and worked in the oil industry for many years. He and his wife Gwen moved to an acreage north of Cochrane in 1979, raised their two sons and became very active in the community. It was in 2001 that he discovered his love of painting and now works mainly in acrylics, painting landscapes and wildlife. He is very fond of the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and the Foothills of the Eastern Slopes and takes photos of scenes that attract him and provide inspiration for his paintings. He has also painted landscapes from scenes admired while travelling in Europe, Australia and the USA, as there are truly no limits to the wonderful landscapes in our world which can motivate an artist to paint. Jeff has taken numerous workshops and classes from noted artists and has developed a style which customers and friends say is very attractive and is truly his own. He has been active in a number of art groups, including the Foothills Art Club, Cochrane Art Club, Arts and Cultural Foundation of Cochrane, the Airdrie Regional Arts Society, the Riverview Artists in Calgary, and has also joined the Federation of Canadian Artists.
