I am a nature & wildlife photographer. Capturing special moments has always been a part of my life. When I moved to Cochrane in 2014, I brought my camera out of retirement. The birds inspired “Nature in my Backyard”! The images captured behind my lens are transformed into photographic art, ranging from art cards to large matte metal framed prints. When wildlife allows you to be part of their natural world, it is truly a gift.
This new journey has opened my eyes to the beauty of the nature that surrounds me. A big part of my journey is connecting with like-minded photographers who believe that nature comes first. Joining the Cochrane Camera Club was the pathway to meeting new friends with the same interests. I am honoured and so proud to be representing our country on the world stage as part of Team Canada at the 2023 World Photographic Cup.
My photography adventures are usually within an hour of town to capture the array of amazing wildlife in this area. In 2019, I travelled to the Khutzeymateen: “Valley of the Grizzly”. It was on this trip that I meet a bear biologist from Canmore, who fueled my passion for bears. I have travelled to BC, Churchill, and Alaska to photograph bears. I am still very passionate about the birds and my friends call me the “Bird Nerd”. I am excited to share my work along side the amazing talented artists who make up the collective at the Route 22 Gallery.
