Karen Pedersen

Painter

Born and raised in Alberta. Karen is a contemporary painter whose work is a true reflection of her passion for the world around her. With a deep appreciation for the beauty found in her surroundings Karen’s paintings are a stunning reflection of her love for the world around her. She is largely self-taught, taking directions and instruction from some of Canada’s most known landscape artists.

Her artistic journey has been shaped by the varied and captivating landscapes of her home province. From the mountains to the tranquil countryside Karen captures the essence of each subject with a perfect balance of observation imagination and intuition. With her painterly style and distinct brush work Karen uses oils and acrylics to bring her subjects to life.

Her passion for the diverse world we live in is evident in every piece as she strives to draw the viewer into the heart of the subject through her skillful use of movement form and light.

Her work has been juried into many professional level shows, local shows and she’s hosted a solo show. Karen is currently a juried member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and other local art societies in Central Alberta.
